Green For The HolidaysDec 8 2009 10:53AMDave Calabro
There are quite a few things you can do to be green during the holidays and the only limit is your imagination. Here are a few simple tips to get you started.

-First and foremost, stop letting your money go out the window, literally. Remember to do a walk through of your house, noting where you feel cool spots or breezes. Feel closely around windows and doors to see if you can feel cool air. Visit your local home improvement center such as Home Depot or Lowe';s to ask their professional about window insulation strips or films that you can use to prevent your warm air from escaping.

Simple Holiday Tips
-Try turning down the thermostat a little at night or when you go to work so it doesnt heat the home while you're not noticing.
-Recycle left over gift wrapping by making decorations. This makes a great arts and crafts activity for kids as well. Try folding the left overs into stars, or making snowflakes Instructions for paper snowflakes
-Bring your own reusable bags to go holiday shopping! Some places even offer incentives for using your own bags.
-You can try finding more energy efficient LED holiday lights or solar powered lights to help reduce the impact on your electricity bill.
-Remember to recycle the wrapping after opening presents!
