• Server room air conditioner motor was replaced with an energy efficient model.
• Server consolidation project has removed 2 physical servers so far but thats 1330 watts per hour! Which equals 14,862.5 pounds of CO2 or saving 5.06 trees per year!
• IT operational footprint has been reduced from 28 sq ft to 14 sq ft.

Best Practices:

• Condense the number of physical machines needed by using virtualization technology.
• When virtualizing, keep in mind physical disk access as this is the most common bottleneck.
• Make sure toner and ink suppliers offer free recycling before signing a contract or ordering from them.
• Used inkjet cartridges can be traded in for cash or credit for future purchases at companies such as Staples.

• Remind staff and clients about saving energy and natural resources.(Stickers, signs, etc.)

• Stickers have been placed on light switches in all rooms to remind people to shut off the lights when the room is empty.

Best Practices:

• Only place stickers on switches that are safe to turn off. Telling people to turn off hallway lights can become a safety hazard.

• Allow clients to see the status of their file and any information needed.
• Reduce the amount of information printed on paper.
• Allow clients to view a record of who has accessed their file information.
• Make client resumes globally accessible by clients and employers without printing unnecessary copies that can become damaged.
• Provide an additional avenue for clients to communicate with their Career Coaches.
